As the cooler temperatures roll in and the leaves begin to turn, Jefferson County explodes with the colors of fall: vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges. Whether your touring the area on a scenic byway or enjoying the crisp autumn air during a walk through one of our towns, change is in the air.

In addition to the beauty and splendor that comes with fall in the Smokies, our area is home to a variety of festivals, events, and activities to celebrate the season! From pumpkin patches and corn mazes to a hot air balloon festival, there are a host of ways to enjoy autumn in East Tennessee.

Take to New Heights

Enjoy the Crisp Autumn Air

Hands down one of the best ways to experience fall in the Smokies is by driving our scenic byways and highways. As you make your way through rural Appalachia, you’ll find yourself experiencing the bursts of colors and fresh mountain air first hand. Threaded with shoreline roads and mountain valleys, taking a drive reveals a beauty only found in East Tennessee.
