Our Department of Tourism is fortunate to have an amazing community to share with potential residents and visitors. We’re also fortunate to implement and work with a number of great programs and organizations.

Lauren Hurdle

Tourism Director

Lauren has been tourism director since 2016. Before taking the role, she was the assistant tourism director. She enjoys working with organizations to facilitate their events in our county, as well as having the opportunity to highlight many of our area’s businesses.

Lauren and her family reside in Jefferson County and are active members of the community. They enjoy taking in everything that Jefferson County has to offer from local events to picturesque views of the two lakes and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Jefferson County Government

The Tourism Department is an arm of the Jefferson County Government. 

Retire Jefferson County

Our department also oversees the Retire Jefferson County program. This program is designed to help spread the word about all the benefits of retiring in Jefferson County.
