Corn & Bacon Festival – Jefferson City

Come hungry and celebrate history, heritage, and hometown fun at the inaugural Corn & Bacon Festival at Mossy Creek! This brand-new fall festival takes over the Historic Mossy Creek District in Jefferson City for a day filled with delicious food, live music, local vendors, family activities, and plenty of small-town fun.

But why corn and bacon? The festival’s unique theme has roots right here in Jefferson County history. During the Battle of Mossy Creek in 1863, Confederate forces in the area were searching local farms for provisions—including corn to feed their horses and bacon to feed their soldiers. The festival puts a fun, modern spin on that piece of local history while celebrating the agricultural heritage and community spirit of Mossy Creek.

Throughout the day, explore artisan and craft vendors, food vendors, historical activities and demonstrations, family-friendly entertainment, and live music throughout the district. The Main Street Station stage will feature performances from local and regional entertainers, providing a lively soundtrack for a beautiful fall afternoon downtown.

While you’re here, take time to explore the Historic Mossy Creek District, discover its local shops and businesses, visit the Heritage Center at Mossy Creek, and experience the ongoing revitalization of one of Jefferson County’s most historic communities.

Bring your appetite, your family, and your love of local history for the first-ever Corn & Bacon Festival at Mossy Creek—a fall celebration that’s uniquely Jefferson County!
