Food, whether it’s trying new restaurants or new flavors, is often what most people are looking forward to when they go on vacation.  But alas, many travelers visiting an area find themselves eating at yet another chain restaurant in the tourist trap side of town.  It is more important than ever to support locally owned businesses, and many of Jefferson County’s restaurants are now open for both dine in and to-go orders. If you’re visiting our lakes and historic towns check out some of our hidden gems and get an authentic taste of the Lakeside of the Smokies.

Fuel up for a day of adventure with the most important meal of the day! If you like to start your day off with a nice hearty meal, you’ll find all the fixing’s at Owen’s Restaurant in Dandridge.  This family style restaurant has been a part of our community for over 30 years and is a local favorite.  Be sure to ask about the special of the day!  Looking for something a little lighter?  60 Beans Coffee & Crepes located in Jefferson City, TN, not only offers some of the best coffee in the area but also pastries and bagels, and of course their delicious crepes.  Ready for the best part?  If you’re not an early riser, both restaurants offer breakfast all day! 

LOVING LUNCHTIME

After you take a stroll through one of our beautiful downtowns, full of shopping and historic charm, you’re bound to have worked up an appetite.  Luckily for you, there are several lunch hot spots within minutes of each other.

The newly renovated Creek Café in downtown Jefferson City offers freshly made soups, salads, and their famous paninis! You’ll want to be sure to leave room for dessert and have a piece of their delicious homemade cake.

If you’re strolling through historic Dandridge, you definitely want to stop by the iconic Tinsley-Bible Pharmacy and Soda Fountain; home of the famous Bible Burger! They also have great sandwiches and homemade daily specials.  If you have a craving for a slice of pizza, take the short drive over to White Pine Pizza in White Pine, TN.  This authentic pizzeria uses fresh ingredients and made-to-order New York style dough.

DINNER WITH A VIEW

With numerous traditional Southern food options, you are guaranteed the true local experience.  The menu at Taste of Dandridge is full of Southern favorites such as fried catfish, pulled pork, and BBQ.  This family restaurant is located right off interstate I-40 and is convenient to passers-by, visitors and locals alike.

Of course, with having two beautiful lakes in Jefferson County, there are several restaurants that offer lakeside dining and spectacular mountain views. Angelo’s at the Point is perfectly situated on Douglas Lake in Dandridge offers indoor and outdoor seating.  

Located at Black Oak Marina in Jefferson City, Off the Hook Bar & Grill offers great Americana food with a laidback atmosphere that’s perfect after a long day on the boat or hiking through the mountains.
