Each town brings with it their own unique small town charm, so take some time to explore the local shops and restaurants that are staples of our community.

Begin your day in historic downtown Dandridge

As the second oldest city in the state, Dandridge is rich in history. It’s easy to spend the day perusing the local shops, checking out the historic landmarks, as well as enjoying some truly Southern dining.

Eat

Eat like a local and grab a “Bible burger” and milkshake from Tinsley-Bible Drug Co., an old fashioned soda fountain.  Need some coffee or a refreshing beverage? Stop into Dandridge Brewing Company located inside one of the four original taverns of the city.  Looking for something a little nicer? Head across the bridge to Angelo’s at the Point for some lakeside dining with salads, pork chops and steaks, and, of course, seafood.

Play

Take time to explore the downtown area. With several shops in a city block distance of each other, you are bound to find the perfect souvenir or treat-yourself gift.  Built in 1792, be sure to stop into the historic Courthouse and take a tour of the history museum and archives. If you are around in the early fall, you may be able to catch a street festival or music event, like Scots-Irish Festival or Music on the Town. Oh—and don’t forget to take in the view of Douglas Lake from the dyke that saved Dandridge!

Enjoy the afternoon exploring Jefferson City’s Historic Mossy Creek District

Just a few minutes down the road, you’ll find Jefferson City. Jefferson City’s Historic Mossy Creek District is located in the heart of its downtown area and vibrant with local restaurants and shops perfect for exploring.
